saying things again

Saturday, March 7th, 2009

some words it is good to say again after you have said them. you must say a word the correct number of times only, otherwise it sounds wrong and your leg might fall off or something equally bad. the number is often two or four, but it depends on the word. some common words are listed here:

yup yup

good good

yah yah yah yah yah

there are also some exceptions. ‘dooooo’  and ‘laaa’ for instance can be of variable length and thus have varying repetition properties, much like the transition metals.

sneeble

Monday, March 2nd, 2009

sneeble is a verb, meaning to roll away quietly from somewhere or something. it comes from the finnish word snibl, which originally referred to one who was leaving inconspicuously with the last cake. it was brought to england on the 12th of march, AD 419 by the vikings, who alas left very conspicuously with a lot of cake. the word enjoyed a brief resurgence in popularity in the 13th century, when it became fashionable for those in the know to spell such words with as many eeeees as possible. (the temporary boom in the tweed industry – or rather, the ‘tweeeeeeeed industry’ – of the time was another direct result of this trend.) the highest ever recorded eeeee count for any conjugation of sneeble was 146, when an enthusiastic biologist saw a mouse (or possibly small rat) in his kitchen with a curious mode of transportation, and made a note of his observations in his journal.

railpaste

Sunday, February 22nd, 2009

**********BREAKING NEWS!***********

scientists have invented RAILPASTE(TM), a new substance that is guaranteed to speed up the construction of railways by one million times! simply squeeze a tube of RAILPASTE(TM) and it produces a nice smooth rail with a weld-free finish. the sleepers can be pressed into the rails while the paste is still malleable. a single tube of RAILPASTE(TM) can be easily operated by only two people, even if one of them is a bit short! a spokesperson from Ratsniffer and Fungalcream Incorporated, the makers of RAILPASTE(TM), said, ‘soon we will be able to cover the whole world in railways. MWAHAHAHA!’.
